Fans of my adventure travel blog, I’d like to introduce you to one of the most adventurous people I know: Lisa Hennessy, whose newest show, ABC’s “Expedition Impossible” premieres tonight at 9/8pm Central.
Lisa and I are friends from high school, both playing on the basketball team at Maine South High School in Park Ridge, IL. (GO HAWKS!) Lisa, being 6 feet, was the center, and I a lowly guard and outside shooter. We have remained friends throughout the years, criss-crossing the globe on our own assignments. She graciously provided me shelter this winter after a break-up, dragging my ass out of bed at 6am to do yoga or go hiking along trails in the Santa Monica Mountains near her home in Santa Monica, CA.
As Executive Producer of the show, Lisa supervises the entire production process, from scouting the location, preproduction, managing 15 camera crews, to postproduction. By placing ordinary contestants in extraordinary situations, Lisa hopes to inspire people, as well as to entertain. With reality TV, you can’t make the stuff up…it just happens!
“Expeditions Impossible” is set in the magical Kingdom of Morocco, known for its beauty and for the hospitality of the Berber culture. From the vast Sahara Desert, to the high Atlas Mountains, contestants are given challenge after challenge, working in sets of three people.
Take a look at this clip, and be sure to tune in tonight at 9/8pm Central on ABC.
Congratulations, Lisa Hennessy…adventure on!
